Pete Nugent is considering running a 1-week Meet to Ireland.Two options are under consideration
1. via Dublin to the Wicklow Mountains (Glendalough) and on to Kerry; the Gap of Dunloe and the sea cliffs of Dun Seanna Head.
2. via Dublin to the Mournes & onto Donegal, camping on the uninhabited Gola Island with a possible return via Fairhead.
No dates have been fixed so far. Members should contact Pete Nugent if interested. Both options give a good selection of routes in the S-E2 range. Further details on the climbing can be found in “Rock Climbing in Ireland” by David Flanagan, publ 2014 (Pete has a copy).
LC&CC owns two huts which give members comfortable, low cost accommodation within the heart of the mountains. The largest is Tranearth hut just outside Torver near Coniston. Dan y Mynydd hut is situated in Tanygrisiau near Blaenau Ffestiniog LL41 3ST
