Summary of huts and how to book

LC&CC owns two huts which give members comfortable, low cost accommodation within the heart of the mountains. The largest is Tranearth hut just outside Torver near Coniston. Dan y Mynydd hut is situated in Tanygrisiau near Blaenau Ffestiniog LL41 3ST

The club has 2 huts which can be available to outdoor clubs and occasionally other groups.

Tranearth in The Lake District sleeps up to 30 and Dan y Mynydd in Snowdonia sleeps up to 11. Like all climbing club huts, users need to bring sleeping bags. The huts are run by volunteers and rely on people using them responsibly and leaving them as they find them – or better.

Bookings for both huts are normally made by e-mail to huts@thelccc.co.uk.  If urgent our booking secretary Paul can be contacted on 07484 782803 (no text or voice messages please) if he is not away in the hills!

The cost per night starts from £16 for non-members and £14 for club bookings of BMC & BCU affiliated clubs. A deposit is required with payment by BACS transfer. Details will be provided with booking information.

Hut keys can be issued to full members.

Tranearth has no vehicular access. The walk from car park to hut is approx. 1km.

There is a small members’ room at Tranearth which is normally reserved for exclusive use of members.
